My next book’s epigraph

Now that the paperwork is signed, I’m happy to share that my next novel, A Ceremony of Losses, will feature as its epigraph a quotation from the lyrics of “Daydreamer” by John Fullbright, off his debut album From the Ground Up.

I chose the first line of the song’s chorus — “Dream me a better world and I’ll find a better way” — as my book’s epigraph because for me it and the rest of the song evoked the mood and the story arc of the book’s main character, Doctor Julian Bashir.

Give the song a listen here, and find out why John Fullbright is one of my favorite new recording artists. (And, just FYI, he’ll be performing in New York City on June 20 at Joe’s Pub, down in the Astor Place neighborhood.)
