Find me at LI-Con 2 this weekend

My next convention appearance will be this weekend, August 14–16, at LI-Con 2 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in lovely Ronkonkoma, NY. Here is my tentative schedule for the weekend, in case you’re planning on coming out to join in the fun:

FRIDAY 8/14

Star Trek Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
Join me and fellow guest Mackenzie Reide and someone from fan group USS Brittanic as we talk about the history, present state, and future possibilities of the beloved SF franchise.
6PM–7PM,  Sayville Room

SATURDAY 8/15

Adaptations vs. Remakes
What’s the difference between a remake, a reboot, and an adaptation? Why does it matter? I will discuss these and other related questions with fellow guests Mackenzie Reide and Russ Colchamiro.
10AM–11AM, Sayville Room

What NOT to Do When Writing
I think the name of this panel says it all. A spirited discussion will ensue between myself, Peter David, Richard Herr, Mackenzie Reide, and Aaron Rosenberg.
11AM–Noon, Holbrook Room

SUNDAY 8/16

Star Trek Fan Panel
Are you a fan of Star Trek? Do you want to come and pose pesky questions to people who write Star Trek for a living? Then join panel host club USS Brittanic for a Spanish Inquisition of me, Peter David, and Aaron Rosenberg.
11AM–Noon, Bay Room

The Villain’s Journey: Seeing All Sides of the Story
Another panel in which the title tells you all you need to know about the topic, which I will explore at length with the assistance of fellow guest Aaron Rosenberg.
Noon–1PM, Bay Room

I am not sure if I will have specified times for book signings or readings. When I know more about those aspects of my visit to LI-Con 2, I will update this page.
