Post-Signing Report

Yesterday afternoon I was at the Barnes & Noble store in Holyoke, MA, signing copies of my original supernatural thriller, The Calling. It was a beautiful, sunny autumn day in western Massachusetts; I was told that turnout for these sorts of things is usually better on rainy days, but I remained optimistic.

This was my first time doing a signing in a book store; I had signed many times at various conventions, but it didn’t occur to me until I was in the store yesterday that this was actually a milestone for me.

Overall, I was happy with the response I got from the store’s customers, and with the number of copies of the book that were sold.  To all who stopped in and bought a copy, thank you —I truly appreciate your support.

I’d also like to thank the store’s community-relations manager, Gail Harris, who helped promote the event and made me feel very much at home; and Erica Feldon, my book’s publicist at Simon & Schuster, who coordinated the event with Ms. Harris.

This was a lot of fun; I think I’ll have to do this again sometime.

Here are a couple more photos from the event:

End of the day: I sign the remaining books, which will be sent to other Barnes & Noble stores around western Massachusetts.

Signing Event for THE CALLING

Confirmed! I will be signing copies of my new novel The Calling on Sunday, October 25, 2009, from 2pm–4pm, at the Barnes & Noble in Holyoke, Mass.

calling_holyokeBNIf you live in New England — and especially in the Pioneer Valley area — please stop by and say hello. Also, I’ll be happy to sign any of my other books in addition to The Calling. (Though it would be polite if you’d buy any books to be signed from the Holyoke B&N store — I suggest placing special orders now).

I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new readers on October 25!

ETA: I am happy to report that the Holyoke, Mass., Barnes & Noble has stocked my book on a front display table, making it easy to find. So come on in, get your copy early, and be sure to see me on Sunday, October 25.
