My Convention Schedule Round-up

Okay, folks. I’ve finally gotten around to registering to attend a few conventions this year. I don’t know how many I will have signing events at, but one never knows, eh?  Better to be prepared.

C2E2 (Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo)

April 16–18, 2010, McCormick Place, Chicago
Look for me at the BOOM! Studios booth, where I’ll be signing debut copies of Farscape: Scorpius!

*

Shore Leave 32

July 9–11, 2010, Marriott’s Hunt Valley Inn, Timonium, Md.
In addition to signing books Friday night from 10pm-midnight and speaking on panels throughout the weekend, I’ll be producing and performing in The  2nd Annual Shore Leave Comedy Roast for Charity (to benefit the American Red Cross), on Friday, July 9, 2010, from 7pm–9pm. Our guest of honor (read: roast victim) will be Michael Jan Friedman.

Comic-Con International 2010

July 22–25, 2010, San Diego Convention Center
TENTATIVE: If I attend this show, look for me at the BOOM! Studios booth, where I’ll be signing copies of the first four issues of Farscape: Scorpius. I might also visit the Simon & Schuster booth to sign various Star Trek titles, as well as my novels based on Wolverine and The 4400.

*

Dragon*Con 2010

September 3–6, Atlanta
TENTATIVE: I’ve applied for a guest membership to Dragon*Con but have not heard from the convention organizers. If I attend this show, look for me at the BOOM! Studios booth, where I’ll be signing copies of the first four issues of Farscape: Scorpius.

New York Comic Con 2010

October 8–10, Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York City
TENTATIVE: I’ve confirmed my attendance but not any panels or activities. If BOOM! Studios has a booth at this show, expect to find me there promoting Farscape: Scorpius. If Simon & Schuster sets up shop on the show floor, I might also spend some time there to promote the December release of my next Star Trek novel, Zero Sum Game, which is the second book in the four-part Typhon Pact miniseries.

Meet me in Chicago at C2E2, April 16–18

Convention Schedule Update!

Along with my pal Keith R.A. DeCandido (aka kradical on LJ), I will be attending the Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo (aka C2E2) from Friday, April 16, though Sunday, April 18, to promote the debut of the new ongoing comic-book series that I script, FARSCAPE: SCORPIUS.

Keith and I will be spending most of our time in the BOOM! Studios booth promoting the Farscape comics, but I will be happy to sign any of my books for fans who stop by with copies in hand. Hoping to meet lots of new folks at the con!

Ah, Windy City, how I’ve missed you… it’s been too long…

First look at Farscape: Scorpius #0

BOOM! Studios has released a special ten-page preview of April’s Scorpius #0.

This is the beginning of a four-part story arc titled Let Seeping Dogs Lie (no, I don’t know what it means — it was chosen by Farscape series creator Rockne S. O’Bannon). Issue #0 is titled “Fire and Ice” (my title, which will make sense as soon as you see the preview).

The Scorpius comics are plotted by Rockne O’Bannon and scripted by yours truly. The art is by newcomer Mike Ruiz.

The full preview is behind the cut…

Farscape: Scorpius debuts in April

Howdy, ‘Scapers! It is with great excitement and relief that I am finally able to post this information, which has been embargoed now for many months: coming this April from BOOM! Studios is a new, ongoing monthly comic-book series, Farscape: Scorpius.

The stories are plotted by Farscape series creator Rockne S. O’Bannon and scripted by yours truly. The art is by the talented Mike Ruiz, and editorial oversight is provided by BOOM! guru Ian Brill.  The series is set shortly after Scorpius has been banished from Hyneria by the reinstated Dominar Rygel XVI and will run concurrently with the ongoing monthly Farscape series. The tone of the new series will be darker, edgier, and more serious than that of the main Farscape book plotted by Rockne and scripted by my buddy Keith R.A. DeCandido (aka kradical on LiveJournal).

ETA: ComicMix.com has posted a detailed interview w/me & Keith R.A. DeCandido re: our work on the Farscape & new Scorpius comics.

Not excited yet? Check out the two variant covers for Issue #0, “Fire and Ice,” after the cut!
