My wife and I awoke this morning to discover that the water flowing from our taps is brown. Well, brown-ish.
Naturally, this would happen on Labor Day weekend. When it would be all but impossible to get it fixed without spending a fortune.
However, it appears there’s nothing we could do about it, anyway. I went downstairs and talked with a neighbor, who confirmed that his water is also brown-ish. So it’s the local water supply, not our house.
He also told me that this “happens from time to time” when the city works on the pipes. That we should just be patient. It’ll all settle sooner or later.
Which is good to know…but I still don’t want to brush my teeth with the stuff.
Something tells me that bottled-water sales will spike today in Astoria.
